For some people, being disorganized means more than just spending wasted time searching for items.  To them, being disorganized leads to fear of not being able to complete a task. The task looks too big to complete in a timely fashion, because who knows how much time it will take with the mess they have. This leads to procrastination, which means total shutdown. Obviously, these people need some time management skills and organizational training. And while seeking help for this, they should go ahead and seek help for low self esteem.

 Once these individuals become organized, they will often fall into the trap of low self esteem. Now they view themselves as not having the proper skills to complete a task. Or they feel the task is very important, and they cannot do the job well enough. Here again, some outside help that will reinforce their abilities is needed. Everywhere you turn there are people in this association or that one. There is the homeowners association or HOA in many residential neighborhoods that is there to protect the value of your home. There is an association for just about every profession in the world. Trade associations, health associations, business associations, professional associations and there is even an association for associations where you can be trained on associations. Most of them have acronyms for their name like APRO which stands for the Association of Progressive Rental Organizations.

Did you know that an acronym is an abbreviation of several words that make up a word itself? The word doesn’t have to be a real word such as WHO for World Health Organization. It can be completely made up and it may even get so common place that people don’t realize it’s an acronym such as RADAR which stands for radio detection and ranging. This is called an acronym and is a word so common that no one remembers what it stands for. Another acronym, APRO, is a made-up word and is the official voice of the Rent-To-Own (RTO) industry. It almost gets silly after awhile and has become the brunt of many jokes like in the cartoon Dilbert. More realistically, you can’t function in some industries until you learn the language, mostly made up of acronyms.

While filling out a rent to own contract you may find a couple of acronyms but in legal papers it’s best to stay away from them. You also may find abbreviations that are sometimes referred to as initialisms. This is taking the first letter of each word for an abbreviation and it may sometimes form to be an acronym but not always. CBS, AT&T and IBM are a few that are not acronyms. It seems that a lot of associations try to become acronyms or at least initialisms. Who wants to spell out long strings of words every time you have to write the name?

On Monday 21st August and in front of a crowd of only 2146, Nottingham Forest were dumped out of the Carling Cup (formerly the League Cup) by lowly Accrington Stanley. How times have changed for this former super power of european club football.

Struggling to come to terms with life in League 1 (division 3 in old money) it is has hard to imagine a comparable fall from grace in modern sport. The glory years for this east midlands team started on January 6th 1975. Why this date you may ask? Did the club power its way to league titles or knock out famous glamour clubs on the way to european success. No, neither, this is the date that Brian Clough took the reigns of this unfashionable sinking ship.

Clough started to weave his magic immediatley. In February he acquired John O’Hare and John McGovern from Leeds and shortly afterwards doubled the imports by signing the enigmatic John Robertson and Martin O’Neil (now manger of Aston Villa). Not content with his early work, the ambitious Clough completed this first season recruitment drive by persuading Frank Clark to sign for the club from Newcastle at the end of the season.

In July of 1976 the most famous management partnership in English Football was created by the arrival of Peter Taylor (who had just resigned the managership at Brighton). It was from this date on that the real success began. Armed with an additional one year contract extension the Clough and Taylor dream partnership set out on a magical adventure which would include the capture of the football league championship, league cup, european cup (2 years on the bounce), european super cup and the charity shield. All this between the years of 1978 and 1980.

That golden era included such players as Kenny Burns, Larry Lloyd, Trevor Francis, Peter Shilton, Colin Barrett and David Needham.

In 1980 the Clough-Taylor partnership ended acrimoniously. A new era began under Clough which saw moderate success (2 league cup wins) between the years of 1981 and 1993. Clough retired from Forest and football in May, 1993. The end was a tragic relegation in front of a full City Ground. The club never fully recovered from this hammer blow.

The next 20 years saw managers come and go, and the club even went into administration in 1996. As it stands today Forest have a new manger in Colin Calderwood and maybe a new Clough era is on its way again. (The club is currenlty in second place and undefeated in the league after 4 matches).

Another false dawn at this famous old club? Maybe, just maybe not this time.

Digbeth Coach Station?

I'm getting a coach to digbeth coach station in birmingham and changing coaches there, and i will be waiting around for the next coach for 3 hours, so i was planning on going to see the bullring. Any ideas where i can leave my suitcase? Is there somewhere iniside the staton to leave it??? I need a safe place to put it. Any ideas????
